In our experience, we have found that our clients prefer an accurate price based on their exact electrical issue. Most “over the phone” quotes are subject to change once we are on site and see the job. We don't think that is fair to you. By allowing us to diagnose the problem in person, you will know exactly what it will cost to get the job done before we begin work. Contact SolaElec for a on-site inspection and quote for all of your electrical repair needs.
The quickest and easiest way to save energy in any building is by making sure your lighting and appliances are as efficient as possible. There are many options available to make your lighting more efficient, from replacing existing fluorescent and old sodium or metal halide bulbs and fixtures with new energy efficient LED technology to improve lighting levels as well as reduce energy usage. For heavier loads like geysers, heat pumps, and pool pumps, its best to use a timer to load shift these items to run during the daytime & be powered from solar energy as opposed to grid supply. Proper insulation of outside geysers is also important to minimise overnight heat loss. Our team at SolaElec can guide you with the right information and work with you to ensure we maximise the available energy savings in your home or office.
Many home owners think they can do their own electrical work, like a DIY project, however without the proper qualifications, certification and approvals by the relevant authorities even a simple job can turn out to be dangerous. Incorrectly connected polarity or loose connections can result in short circuits or fire risks. The safety of your family and your home should always be considered before you undertake any electrical work. SolaElec recommends you call a professional unless you have the proper training, and we provide no obligation quotations for all electrical work.
Modern homes are more advanced and filled with electronics than they have ever been, and we are increasingly dependent on not only the electronics, but the ability to easily charge them. Surge Protection provides protection to all the electrical equipment in your home from surges and spikes that can be created outside or even inside your home. This means it protects the electronic components of refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, coffee machines, WiFi routers and anything else that wouldn’t traditionally have protection. We recommend whole home surge protectors be installed in all homes to protect all the electronics
An Earth Leakage is a circuit breaker that is designed to protect against fault current & prevent electric shocks. It senses when power is going where it should not, and if it senses a problem it shuts off. This is why regulations specify that they be used to protect all plug circuits and especially those exposed to water like in bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms and other outdoor areas. One thing many people do not realise is that they are designed to be tested once a month to ensure proper operation. This is done by pressing the test button on the device to make sure it turns off, and then lifting the switch to make sure it turns on again. If either of the test or reset buttons do not work it needs to be replaced.
